EVENT HISTORY
Jiyugakuen Myonichikan
MURRAL SPRING-SUMMER 23 COLLECTION
The Jiyugakuen Myounichikan was built in 1921 as a Christian school for girls. Designed by master architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the unique building elegantly reflects both Japanese and western aesthetics. It was designated as an Important Cultural Property due to its historical and artistic value in 1997.
In the past, fashion shows have been held in the lounge hall and auditorium, but this time the women's fashion brand "MURRAL" held a fashion show in the front garden, with the impressive outline of the property providing the perfect backdrop for the performance. *
Models wearing skin-colored outfits, floral patterns, and other nature-themed items walked on the lawn during twilight. One of the designers of "MURRAL," Yusuke Muramatsu, said that this collection was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture, giving the event a strong affinity with the venue.
Serving as a model for the continued use of historical properties, the Jiyugakuen Myounichikan is also used for seminars, receptions, concerts, and other events. Please feel free to contact us when considering an event at this venue because, at Tokyo Unique Venues, we are ready to serve you with our breadth of expertise, from various application procedures to advice during setup.
(*)This event was held under the subsidy program of the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau.
