EVENT HISTORY
Hamarikyu Gardens
used for a Unique Venue Showcase Event
Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau held the first Unique Venue Showcase Event of FY2022 to convey unique venues in the metro area through the various methods that these facilities can be utilized. The exciting event was held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, in a hybrid format with online delivery in Japanese and English, based around the Tokyo Port City Takeshiba and the nearby Hamarikyu Gardens, under the themes of "functional utilization of multiple facilities" and "regional cooperation".
The event kicked off with welcome drinks featuring delicious Hachijojima fruit lemons. In the spacious foyer of the Tokyo Port City Takeshiba Port Hall, Augmented Reality(AR) technology provided a 360-degree view of the scenic Nakajima-No-Chaya teahouse in Hamarikyu Gardens, and panel displays introduced the Hamamatsucho, Takeshiba, and Shibaura areas.
A talk session was held in the hall, with the Chief of the Secretariat of DMO Shiba Tokyo Bay discussing DMO activities to attract business events, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Parks Association spoke about the utilization of cultural asset gardens.
Participants then boarded a special water bus from the pier at Waters Takeshiba to visit Hamarikyu Gardens for real this time. At Nakajima-No-Chaya teahouse, uniquely located on a tidal pond, participants enjoyed a culinary experience using Tokyo ingredients such as Edo Tokyo vegetables and local products from Tokyo's island and the Takeshiba area. There was also a spectacular ikebana performance to top off this part of the memorable event.
Participants then returned to Takeshiba, again by water bus, for networking at SHAKOBA, an event hall in Waters Takeshiba, concluding the content-packed three-hour showcase event.
