Built in 1961, Umewaka Noh Academy Hall boasts what was a modernistic structure for its time, and was the first Noh theater built by the master architect Hiroshi Ōe, who designed Japan's National Noh Theater in Shibuya. It is a structure that harmonizes the traditional Japanese and the modern, with patterns created by applying cedar boards onto concrete.
The organizer of this unique event, Fever, has held concerts in more than 100 cities around the world, attracting more than three million viewers.

Unlike a conventional stage where the audience views mostly from the front, the Noh stage can be viewed from anywhere including the sides. Candles placed around the seating area with a capacity of 300 and on the stage presented a magical atmosphere.
With candlelight concerts, the selection of the venue is important in order to attract a large audience. At candlelight concerts, because the performances are based on classical music, concerts are held in environments where it is possible to collaborate with some form of culture, such as distinctive buildings, historic structures, and cultural heritage.
Because Noh is recognized as a world-class intangible cultural heritage, the fact that it is deeply intertwined with the culture was the key factor in selection of the venue. Performances on a Noh stage are an experience unique to Japan, and rare to find elsewhere .
