EVENT HISTORY

　On January 31st, 2024, a Tokyo Unique Venues networking event for Tokyo Unique Venue Support Desk staff and the staff from various facilities was held at the Jiyugakuen Myonichikan.

　Jiyugakuen Myonichikan was established in 1921 as a girl's school. The building was designed by Frank Loyd Wright, a master of architecture from America, and is currently designated as one of Japan's Important Cultural Properties.
　20 people attended the event in a large classroom filled with warm sunlight evocative of memories of elementary school. First, Unique Venue Support Desk staff shared information on inquiries and trends for the current fiscal year, including an introduction of the desk's operations. After that, the director of Jiyugakuen Myonichikan gave a lecture on "Advantages and Challenges for Unique Venues," and the advisor of Umewaka Noh Academy Hall gave a lecture on "The Future Utilization of Unique Venues."
　After the informative presentations, there was a fruitful discussion among the staff of different Unique Venues on issues related to using their facility as a Unique Venue, as well as the equipment they would like to install for future events.

　

　This was followed by a tour of the auditorium and the lounge hall of the main building. The auditorium accommodates larger events than the classrooms and can also be used as second-floor seating or make use of its stage. The chairs in the auditorium can also be moved, allowing for various event formats.
　Lastly, the event moved to the dining hall for free networking. Special arrangements to light the fireplace were made, making for a meaningful networking session over a warm fireplace.
