IMAGINUS
Tokyo Unique Venues Networking Event
On July 10 a Tokyo Unique Venues Networking Event connecting support desk staff with staff from various UV facilities was held at IMAGINUS.
IMAGINUS is a renovated school in the Suginami ward of Tokyo, which has been transformed into an educational facility where anyone can come and learn about science. It is also equipped with all the facilities required for successful business events and with a school gate and gymnasium the building has retained its school-like atmosphere making for a nostalgic venue for seminars or parties.
The networking event, held in the multipurpose room on the first floor attracted about 20 attendees including UV facilities staff. First, the Support Desk staff outlined the work of the Unique Venues Support Desk, including event case studies. This was followed by a presentation by the company that runs IMAGINUS detailing how an abandoned school can be utilized and how it became a unique venue. Lastly, Sumida Aquarium, the venue of last year's unique venue showcase, presented on making use of an aquarium's individuality as a unique venue.
After the presentations, unique venues facilities staff engaged in a discussion that broached topics such as the types of business events they would like to host at their facilities and requests for nighttime events from organizers such as receptions. Every facility was able to share their opinions about future business events making for a fruitful discussion.
Attendees also had the chance to inspect the facility's laboratories before socializing at the 4th place café on the 3rd floor where drinks and finger food were on offer during a discussion on their various experiences hosting events.
