Tokyo Unique Venues Networking Event
On July 16, 2025, a Tokyo Unique Venues Networking Event was held at Miraikan to facilitate discussion and collaboration between the Unique Venue support desk and various Unique Venue facilities.
The Miraikan - The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation is a popular destination where visitors immerse themselves in cutting-edge science and technology while exploring their impact on society and the future.
The first floor features the Symbol Zone, a large area with a massive floating globe display and the 7 floor offers multiple exhibition areas, and the Miraikan Hall, a multipurpose space with a capacity of up to 292 persons, which is ideal for hosting dynamic parties.
50 participants, including staff from various Unique Venues, attended the networking event. It began with an introduction from the One-Stop Support Desk, highlighting its services and showcasing standout examples of past events. This was followed by a presentation from a representative of DMO TOKYO DAIBA, AOMI, ARIAKE on the transformative impact unique venues can have on local communities. A representative from Miraikan then gave a talk on the museum, including success stories and its operational structure.
Participants then engaged in a highly dynamic discussion centered on the theme: "What do organizers look for when selecting a unique venue, and how do they coordinate and prepare with the facility?" The conversation focused on enhancing venue utilization by stepping into the shoes of event organizers. Many attendees shared valuable insights on what features venues should ideally offer moving forward, and what makes a unique venue truly special.
Following the presentations and workshop, participants took part in a guided tour of the facility, visiting key areas such as the Symbol Zone, exhibition spaces, meeting rooms, and back-of-house operations. The event then moved to the 7th-floor observation lounge, which was reserved for a networking session. The venue's in-house restaurant provided party-style dishes and beverages, including pasta made with artificial salmon roe, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere that fostered deeper connection and collaboration among facility representatives.
