A Leading Example of City Integrated MICE Utilizing Outdoor Space
Nihonbashi MICE Showcase 2025 - THE BRIDGE OF TOKYO's OLD AND NEW -
On Thursday, October 30, 2025, Nihonbashi MICE Showcase 2025 - THE BRIDGE OF TOKYO's OLD AND NEW - was held at Nihonbashi Naka-dori and Fukutoku Garden, two rare outdoor event spaces in the Nihonbashi area. These two unique venues are both just a two-minute walk from Mitsukoshimae Station on the Tokyo Metro and in close proximity to many other convention facilities. The beloved Fukutoku Shrine is nearby, providing a window into the area's long history.
Approximately 70 meeting planners and other event industry professionals participated in the event. In began with the Nihonbashi MICE Briefing Session at Nomura Conference Plaza Nihonbashi, followed by the Nihonbashi MICE Tour. Participants visited the site of an international conference being held that day, along with several other convention facilities in the area.
Participants then walked through the streets of Nihonbashi to the party venues, Nihonbashi Naka-dori and Fukutoku Garden, just as they would when attending business events. This allowed them to get a sense of the event flow while also experiencing the charm of the neighborhood for themselves.
At Nihonbashi Naka-dori, welcome drinks and light refreshments were served with the cooperation of local shops and festival stalls, and rickshaws added to the lively ambiance.
At Fukutoku Garden, guests enjoyed a vibrant program of traditional Japanese cultural experiences. The entertainment included Daikagura juggling and acrobatics, a reenacted oiran parade from the Edo period, dynamic lion dances, and kamishibai picture‑card storytelling with audience quizzes. Guests also sampled authentic kaiseki cuisine and sake. Although the weather remained clear, tents were intentionally set up as part of the showcase design, allowing organizers to test how outdoor venues can respond to rain and other environmental conditions.
Nihonbashi Naka-dori and Fukutoku Garden are venues capable of hosting extraordinary business events in exciting outdoor layouts.
