EVENT HISTORY

　In between meetings of foreign companies in Tokyo, 30 excursion participants (from regions including Australia, the UK, the USA, and Singapore,.) visited the main residence of Re;PLACE KOISHIKAWA, which was built in 1920.
　First, the tea ceremony experience was divided into two groups of about 20 participants in the "Ichi no Ma" and "NI No Ma" rooms and about 10 in the "San No Ma". The instructor explained the history of the tea ceremony and its preparation in English as participants enjoyed matcha green tea and sweets. One participant commented, "I have had matcha before, but this was the first time I observed its traditional preparation, and it was very delicious". In contrast to the daily meetings, the participants seemed to relax and enjoy the tea ceremony in the quiet space of the old residence, where they could feel the Japanese atmosphere, including the garden.

　Later, participants gathered in the "Ichi no Ma" and "Ni No Ma" rooms to experience teahouse entertainment, a first for most in attendance. After enjoying local shamisen music, songs, and geisha dances, participants listened to the stories of geisha through interpreter guides. Participants actively asked questions such as "How long have you been learning how to dance?" and enjoyed this chance to socialize with geisha. After the experience, they enjoyed taking pictures with the geisha in the garden.
