Kiyosumi Gardens
This garden is comprised of a Dai-sensui (large pond), which once drew water from the Sumida River, with the arrangement of valuable garden stones collected from all across Japan. The Taisho Kinenkan Hall commemorating Emperor Taisho and Empress Teimei offers meals not only in a formal style but also stand-up buffet style for a dining experience that integrates the lawn area in front of the hall. Cocktail parties can also be held in the Ryotei lodge overlooking the large pond, built in 1909 to entertain British Field Marshal Herbert Kitchener, a guest of honor in Japan.
