Tokyo National Museum
Opened in 1872, the Tokyo National Museum is a leading museum in Japan that protects and passes on culture through the collection, preservation, and exhibition of cultural properties. With approximately 120,000 items in its collection, the museum offers new discoveries through approximately 400 exhibition changes each year.* Altogether, there are six exhibition buildings within the premises that display art works, antiquities from Japan as well as from other Asian countries, and through these artifacts the museum also promotes educational outreach.
